Notes(備考)
“Aka Tombo” is a poem written by the poet Rofū Miki when he was 32 years old, based on his own infant experience.
Rofū was raised at his grandfather’s house because his mother left home suddenly when he was five years old.
The lyrics No.1 and No.2 are hazy and fragmentary recollections of childhood memories.
The lyric No.3 is a definite memory with a clear age of the young nanny.
“Nēya” is an old way of saying when a child of an employer familiarly calls a young maid (an indentured servant).
Only the lyric No.4 has the present tense.
It seems that he creates this poem about the memory he recollects when he saw the red dragonfly or every time he saw the red dragonfly.
Rofū wrote that he saw the red dragonfly outside the window and remembered the babysitter girl who carried him on her back when he was young.
Also, the lyric of No. 4 is different from the lyric No.1 in how to use kanji.
Only the lyric No.4 is a haiku written when Rofū was 11-12 years old.
